What is Meetball Cafe?

I will explain it through an example:
Akiko is working at a high school in Japan as an English teacher. She would like to enjoy a conversation in English to upgrade her speaking skills, but she rarely has the opportunity to talk with native English speakers.Nathan has just retired from employment and got around to doing something new. He likes to travel abroad and talk with people from other generations and cultures.Now, Akiko and Nathan could get to know each other and become good friends. They can use video calls and talk with each other online.

Is the service really free?

Yes. All the services provided by this website are completely free. This website is funded by advertising and donations from satisfied users. If you see a banner that you are interested in, please click it. You are never obligated to buy anything, though.

How do I find a friend?

To be able to contact other users, first you need to register with this website. You can either start by searching our database, or by creating your profile. Once you are signed up, you can create a profile with information about yourself for other users to see. If you create your own profile, it will be posted on this website and you will start getting messages from other users. When you see a profile that interests you, you can send a private message introducing yourself as well.

What is a Private Message?

It is like email between users, but the messages are sent and received through this website so your email address is never disclosed. You can read, delete, and reply to the messages from your private message inbox.
You do not need to disclose any personal information in your message. We generally recommend you exchange several messages through this website or make several calls through Skype before exchanging personal information.

What is a Bookmark?

It is a user that you can choose to save and view their profile at your convenience. Click "Add" at the bottom of other users' profiles and add them to your bookmarks. You can view your entire list, and click "Delete" at the bottom of other users' profiles if you would like to delete old ones.

What is the “Nice Meeting You” button?

It allows you to express your recommendation on each user. You can click the “Nice Meeting You” button if you feel you are able to trust the user after some calls or messages. This website displays the number of people who recommend each user on their profiles, and shows the entire list of users who clicked that user’s “Nice Meeting You” button.

How do I add a photo to my profile?

We let you upload photos to share with other users. To begin uploading, please visit your profile page and click "Edit", where you can add or delete photos.

How do I change my profile information,
email address or username, etc.?

To change any of the above details, please visit your account page and click "Edit" button. Changing your username will update all of your old posts and messages with the new username.

How do I block someone from contacting me?

If you would like to prevent a certain user from contacting you, you can click "Block" on that person's profile.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

If you have forgotten your password, we can help you reset it. Please visit the password reset page.

I cannot login. What is wrong?

This can be for the following reasons:
1. You have entered the wrong email address. This could happen when you have more than one email address and you are not sure which one you are using for this website.
2. You have not entered your full email address. For example, if your email address is someone@yahoo.co.jp, you might have typed someone@yahoo.com
3. You have not entered the password correctly. The password "COFFEE" is different from "coffee"

Can you send the validation email again?

If you have not received the validation email when you tried to sign up (or reset your password), check this:
1. If you have gmail.com, please check your Social tab in your Inbox folder or your All Mail folder.
2. If you have hotmail.com, msn.com, outlook.com, live.com, login to your email website and click the gear on the top right and click Options, then click Safe and blocked senders and finally Safe senders. Then, in the left box type "info@meetballcafe.com" and click Add to list. Request a new validation email.
3. If you have another provider or still do not find our email, then you probably need to check your spam folder or adjust your spam filter to receive email from us. Please follow these steps. Add the following email addresses to your contacts or safe list, to be sure you are able to receive emails from us.

4. If the above doesn't work, the only other option is to change your registered email address.

How do I delete my account?
